Focus On Writing And The Earnings Will Grow

In my quest for more discipline in writing, I've decided to focus on writing and the earnings will grow. I've just started making a regular salary from getting paid a flat rate for various type of articles. In doing so, I've been having a tough time trying not to get sidetracked with watching my earnings. I work within certain deadlines, therefore the earnings from my writing grows in increments, depending on when they're accepted and paid.

Getting paid a flat rate for your articles is a great way to build writing endurance. There's nothing like having the confidence of writing and knowing your payment is on it's way to the bank. But watching that payment from the moment it is posted to your writer's account, until the moment it is actually paid to your bank, can be counterproductive. I enjoy writing for a living (even when I wasn't making any money), and now that I'm actually writing and getting paid, I want to increase my momentum. This, like everything else, will take discipline.

If you work for Demand Studios, another writer's website, or some other client that consistently pays you to write articles on a flat fee basis, it can end up being very lucrative. Once you establish a good routine, a good source for research and online references, and start focusing on the freedom of writing for pay, the earnings will begin to grow and grow.

Ghost Writing And Article Writing On “Spec"

Ghost writing is when you write and get paid for supplying work that will specifically be published without your byline. Writing on “spec” is when you take on an assignment, either solicited or non-solicited, and you write the article with the hope that it will be accepted for purchase by the customer. Typically, a customer will request you to write something on spec and you don't get paid until the writing is completed and the customer is content with the results.

Some websites actually provide you with a list of assignments that you can write on spec. In many cases, but not always, the customer will want to buy full rights, so they can remove the byline and modify the article as they please. This amounts to ghost writing on spec.
