Watch Out For The THEIF!

I caution everyone, especially writers, to watch out for the procrastination thief!!! Procrastination can lead to the loss of money, romance, and a whole lof of other missed opportunities. Don't drag your feet when it comes to writing. Get on the horse and start off at a GALLOP! You can always slow down when you want, but the key to getting paid with your writing is "starting out of the gate" at a good pace, and building some momentum. There's plenty of time to coast later!

Ghost Writing And Article Writing On “Spec"

Ghost writing is when you write and get paid for supplying work that will specifically be published without your byline. Writing on “spec” is when you take on an assignment, either solicited or non-solicited, and you write the article with the hope that it will be accepted for purchase by the customer. Typically, a customer will request you to write something on spec and you don't get paid until the writing is completed and the customer is content with the results.

Some websites actually provide you with a list of assignments that you can write on spec. In many cases, but not always, the customer will want to buy full rights, so they can remove the byline and modify the article as they please. This amounts to ghost writing on spec. It is, however, possible to do one without the other. That is because some spec writers only sell usage or unique rights, thus limiting what the customer can do with the writing.
